So my networking friend Greg McGuire of Absolute Insurance asked me a couple of weeks ago if I felt like going to Peel Chamber‘s morning event on a Thursday morning. Terry of BizVault was going and it was a “different” kind of meeting, Greg said. Alright! Let’s look at my calendar. Yupp!! I’m free. Let’s go.
Fast forward to today and we were at Atrium Hotel with 7 more people at 7:30 in the morning. Met Linda Targett, who organizes and gets things moving for Peel Chamber of Commerce. Gave her some relationship counseling 🙂 and then for the next couple of hours, we listened to everyone else in the room with no time restraint. This was the most relaxing networking experience I’ve ever had. I genuinely enjoyed listening about The Wandering Leaf, The mind lady, and even Terry, who I’ve known for 3 years. The church of Absolute Insurance was mild today.
When it came to my turn I didn’t even feel like talking about my business, but still managed to get into rant mode and talked for quite long I guess. All in all, it was a good experience. I’m extremely incapable of selling myself and go to these networking events to just meet new people as I’m still new to Perth and struggle with getting around.
I think I will be back. Well, they willingly took an “L” selfie… so I kinda have to.
