Event Photography Perth | Case Study of Fertilizer Australia Delegates Visit Crommelin AgriCoatings

Some photography jobs are all about carefully planned shots. Others are about being in the right place and ready when something happens.
Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph part of the Fertilizer Australia Conference program in Perth, covering a delegate visit to Crommelin AgriCoatings in Wellard.
The visit brought together people from across the fertiliser industry, providing a chance to see Crommelin AgriCoatings’ operations and get a closer look at the technology and processes behind its specialised fertiliser coating products.
For me, it was an interesting event to photograph because it combined corporate event photography, industrial photography and people photography in the same shoot. Let me demonstrate how I captured the event with help of some key photographs:

Candid shots and the use of drone
There are conversations happening, people networking, presentations and demonstrations taking place, and plenty of smaller moments that help tell the story of the event. The challenge is to capture all of this without getting in the way. At Crommelin AgriCoatings, the focus was on documenting the visit naturally—from delegates arriving and interacting with the team through to the activities and discussions taking place during the visit.
These candid moments are often some of the most useful images from an event because they give people who weren’t there a genuine sense of what the experience was like. Also showcasing the impact of the site was important so I had my drone with me.

Corporate and Industrial Event Photography in Perth
This shoot was a good example of the variety that comes with event photography in Perth. One moment you’re photographing people networking, and the next you’re documenting an industrial process or looking for an interesting environmental shot.
That combination is something I enjoy about commercial photography. Every event has its own environment, people and story, so the photography needs to adapt accordingly.
Whether it’s a corporate conference, industry event, site visit, product launch or business gathering, the aim is the same—to create a collection of natural, professional images that tell the story of the event.
The Fertilizer Australia Conference visit to Crommelin AgriCoatings was another opportunity to do exactly that.
